Party Season Makeup Look | Day 9: 12 Days Of Christmas

Hey everyone. So with only a handful of days until the big day, Christmas day, and the season of parties, I thought that I would write up a simple makeup look. It’s made of all drugstore products, a simple but pretty look that anyone can create. With neutral eyes and a bold red lip, how could it get more festive?

What I Think About The Rimmel Kate Lipsticks + Swatches

Hey everyone. Today I want to talk to you about my favourite drugstore lipsticks, all from the amazing Kate range by Rimmel. There’s a range of colours, swatches and of course my thoughts on them all.

The Rimmel lipsticks are mostly fab, but the best are definitely found in the Kate Moss range. There is a great choice of shades, from nudes to bolds, and they are completely affordable. The formulation is super creamy and they also last a reasonably long time on the lips (depending on how bold).

There are three types of Kate Rimmel lippys- lasting finish (black packaging), matte (red packaging) and nudes (nude packaging). The lasting finish lipsticks have a complete range of shades, rosy nudes to electric reds, the nudes is-no surprise- comprised of different nudes for different skin tones and the mattes is four red/berry matte formulations. However, all the lippys are just £5.49- HOW INSANE IS THAT!

For under £6, you can get pretty much any shade you want and they’re such good quality!
I have three of the lipsticks from the ranges- two lasting finishes, a your-lips-but-better pink and a rich berry, and I have also recently picked up the cult-red in the matte range.

Let’s start with the nudey pink. The shade 08 is a lovely soft pink shade. It’s so pretty and natural but adds a lovely pink touch. I think this lipstick is great for beginners using lipsticks (it was one of my first ones), and would look perfect with makeup looks that are either natural or bold on the eyes.

Second is the other lasting finish lipstick which is a warm berry. The shade is 03 and is a more purple-than-red burgundy. It’s so autumnal and warm, yet the creamy consistency makes it easy to wear. I like this because it’s a bit warmer than a lot of dark lippys.

The last is the famous, well loved, Rimmel 107. Not only is this Zoella’s favourite lipstick but it is also an amazing drugstore dupe of a lot of dark lipsticks. I picked this up, as there was such a hype around this, and I wasn’t disappointed. At first, I wasn’t too keen on this. It’s hugely similar to the 08 lasting finish, but is a slight tint redder. This one is matte however, so does look different on.

Overall, these three lippys are the lipsticks I turn to so much. At such an affordable price, how can you not? If you’ve never tried these- go out and pick one! They’re such good value for money and there are so many pretty shades.

So that is all from this little lipstick review- how you tried any of these? Also, I have finally worked out how to do the comment section thing- so please drop me a comment! Thanks so much for reading,

Find me on...

Last Minute Halloween Makeup That Can Work Whatever You're Dressing As

Normally I’m a rather organised person when it comes to things like Halloween, but sometimes- like this year- it catches me out and I have to do some last minute costume planning. The last thing I’ve needed to do is to think about my makeup, so today I thought I’d show you a really quick, simple makeup look that is so versatile and can work for lots of different costumes- no matter what you’re dressing up as.

The Concealer That Everyone Loves, But Is Amazing

Hey everyone. Today I thought I’d do a little chatty review on a product that I love and rely on so much, but not one I really talk about very much. Concealer is a life saver, right? If you’re from the UK and watch/ read any blogs/ videos then you’ve probably heard of this concealer, but this is why I think it’s great.

My Autumn Foundation

Hey everyone. If you’ve ever read one of my tutorials or makeup bags, you’ll now I barely ever, if not never, wear foundation. For me, I have quite decent skin so never felt I needed it. However, recently I walked into Boots and just thought this product sounded this. So I bought it, tried it out, and now that flawless skin is mine, is a tube.

What's Made My Autumn Wishlist

Hey everyone. So it's that time again- the season is changing and I've started lusting after so many new things. Although my well-love white tops of the summer are still hung in my wardrobe, I've started scanning the shops for warm reds, burgundy and tartans. It's autumn, one of my favourite season for fashion... So there are a lot of things on my wish list...

Haul // Summer 2015

Hey everyone. I love clothes and fashion and, subsequently, I get a huge enjoyment for shopping. For the last few months, I’ve bought a few things here and there- but these are mostly things you’ve seen in reviews and outfits. So today, as I went shopping only a few days ago, I thought I’d show you some of my most recent buys! I love hauls (the nosy bit of me I think) so I hope you too enjoy this.
This collection of bits and bobs are a bit mixed up- there’s a bit of clothing, makeup and even a new book! I’ve been on my holiday this year, so I’ve not necessary got things I need to buy… but that won’t stop me!

My Everyday Makeup At The Moment

Hey everyone. So I haven’t done a proper makeup post in quite a while, and I thought that instead of creating a new tutorial, I’d just show you my trustworthy everyday makeup. At the moment, I’ve been keeping it simple with a minimal base and the flicked eyeliner as the focus. So these are the products that I use to create my everyday look.

When New Look Does Lipstick...

Hey everyone. When you’re a teenager, the last thing you really want to do is spend loads and loads of money on makeup. For some girls, this is their dream and high-end makeup is their first stop, but for the rest of us, getting a good bargain is always a success. There are lots of options at the drugstore, but now a lot of fashion stores have released their own makeup ranges too. When New Look launched its new beauty section ‘Pure Colour’, I was intrigued… so I thought I’d test out a few products. Therefore, today I am reviewing the New Look lipsticks.

June Favourites

Hey everyone. So I know that I generally only do seasonal ‘favourites’ posts, but this month I seem to have gathered a small handful of things that I wanted to chat about. From food to makeup, this combination of bits and bobs have been what I’ve loved this June.

Great Eyeliner For Less Than £3...

Hey everyone. My everyday makeup hasn’t changed much in a while and recently I fancied something to mix it all up. I am currently obsessed with Suzie, from Hello October, and I was watching one of her videos where she recommended the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner. Suzie has beautiful makeup and her eyeliner always looked stunning, so when I was next in Boots, I decided to give it a go.

Rediscovery- Eyelash Curlers

When giving my makeup collection a bit of a look over recently, I stumbled across my eyelash curlers that appeared a little unloved and unused. I went through a stage of absolutely loving the thing, but then when new mascaras and products arrived, these curlers were pushed further and further back into the drawer.

My Drugstore Makeup Bag

Hey,

So today I decided to do another makeup themed post. In the past I’ve done a travel makeup bag and makeup bag starter kit, but I am yet to do a drugstore favourites makeup bag. I don’t have many high-end items, but some of my makeup isn’t as easily available as it isn’t sold at the drugstore. Therefore, today’s post will have be a collection of my top products that are available from Boots or Superdrug.

Haul - Spring Summer 15

Hey,
So I’m going on holiday soon and so over the last few weeks, and months, I’ve been buying lots of new bits and bobs. I know it’s oh but only march but a lot of these items are summery as I’m going off to the Caribbean! All this stuff, apart from the odd thing, should still be in the shops, so I hope you enjoy seeing my recent buys.

Rocking the Red Lip - Make Up Look

Hey,

Red lips. As classic a look as a little black dress, yet the tradition never wears old. Bold lips are a much-loved makeup statement that demands to be recognised, and even though I’m totally in awe of the look, it’s taken me a while to actually try it out. This is just a simple makeup tutorial of how I’ve been enjoying wearing red lips recently, I hope you enjoy it.

Makeup Starter Kit

Hey,
Can I just start by saying that I’m sorry I missed the upload of Wednesday but I’ve had a lot of school work at the moment to keep up with. I have also put quite a bit of work and thought into today’s post, so please enjoy!

This Sunday’s post is going to be a post I’ve been planning to do for a few weeks, and one that hope you’ll enjoy. Today’s post is my Makeup Starter Kit recommendations. This post is going to be my top few products which would be perfect for anyone who wants to get into makeup, or just try something new. I wanted to create this collection of products so that beginners can find cheap, affordable items easily, so everything I am talking about is under £10 and available at the drugstore (apart from one).

The 'Big Eyes' Makeup Trio | Product Review and Tutorial

Hey,
So today I wanted to share with you my current makeup love. My basic everyday makeup routine really doesn’t change much but recently I’ve been trying something new. I love winged liner but recently I’ve found myself becoming bored of the style and instead opting for this big eyes look.
To create this ‘big eyes’ makeup, I’ve been using three amazing products.

First I use my Supercat eyeliner from Soap&Glory. I don’t think I can rave about this product enough, but all I can say is that if you like a bit of eyeliner then it’s one to try. Personally the easiest technique for me is to apply eyeliner with a thin felt tip pen, and this eyeliner is the best I’ve tried. It’s got a fine tip, so is easy to create the shape and thickness of your liner, and is also precise. I use it to create a simple line. If it is a school day then I’ll draw it close to the lash line and very thing, if it is a weekend then I like a thicker line. I keep the line rounded and do NOT do a flick.

The next item I use it my MUA eyeliner in the shade Snow White, the key product to this look. Adding a white/ light eyeliner to the waterline opens your eyes up, making you look awake and big-eyed. The best bit about this product is I picked it up in Superdrug for an amazing £1! The quality is just what I need to do the job; the pencil is soft and it comes with a sharpener in the lid. I don’t go over the top at this stage, or you end up looking a bit ghostly, but lightly line my eyes and then blink a few times. I am also keen to try out a nude eyeliner but can't find a cheap one anywhere- so if anyone knows where I can get one please let me know!!

The last item I use in the trio of products is the new mascara I’ve been testing out and adoring! I have so many great mascaras but I always find they are too heavy/ thick for everyday use, they don’t stay long enough or they just don’t give my lashes enough to make them stand out. However when I tried this one, I knew it was going to be one to stay! The No7 Extreme LengthMascara is one that I picked up because I’d already tried a mini version and it was drying out.

No7 is a brand which I think is a little under-estimated. I know that I often consider it to be more for older women, I know my mum loves the range, so I often look past the counter. No7 is a Boots only brand and can be a little pricy at times, but the choice and quality of the products really are impressive. This is the first mascara in full size that I’ve tried from the brand and I know if I ever fall out of love with it then I’ll still come back to find a new one. With all their mascaras averaging at about £10 they aren’t the cheapest on offer but there if a good choice of different types targeting length, volume and thickness. The Extreme Length mascara works so well at making my lashes bold and thick, as well as long and volumised. My lashes hold a curl and it stays all day, so I rarely need to top up. It could be a day or night mascara and is easy to remove in the evening. I think we’ll be seeing this product a lot in the next few months on mydaisychaincloset!

I use the mascara on my top and bottom lashes, applying just one coat- but making sure all my lashes are well-covered.
And that’s all! Together this trio of products make my eyes appear bigger and I love the effect of it! I normally apply quite basic makeup around the eyes (normally some concealer, powder and lip balm on a day-to-day basis) so these products really make the look!

I hope you enjoyed this more talkative makeup tutorial/ review. If you have any eye makeup tips then I’d love to know- I’m also keen to try out new techniques and products! I hope you’ve all had a lovely day so far,

January Favourites

Hey,
So the month of January is coming to an end and, as I haven’t done one in a while, I decided to do a monthly favourites. I’m considering making seasonal favourites instead of monthly posts because I don’t normally have a completely new set of things to talk about every month, please tell me what you think about this in the comments.

So January has been a pretty good start to 2015 I think. I haven’t done too many big exciting things, but I’ve had a lot of nice friend and family time. It has been a great month for new things and I’ve had a lot of products I received for Christmas that I’ve been testing out.

So the first product is one I mentioned in one of my posts this month. The Body Shop Honeymania Bubble Bath Melt is a lovely bath product. This bubble bath is scented with the beautiful sweet fragrance of honey, but it is also great at making bubbles in the bath. I feel like the product feels quite natural in the bath and also more grown up than a lot of other bubble baths.

My second favourite is the Tangle Teezer. I have crazy thick curly hair and I find brushing my hair not only a pain but a frizz-making process. I’d seen so much hype about the Tangle Teezer before but I just thought it was like a horse brush!! However it is NOT. I love this brush. It is slightly pricier than your average hairbrush but the tiny blades of the brush smooth and glide through wonderfully.

Thirdly is a product I have talked about a bit before. I love the Body Shop Lip butters and I got loads of new flavours for Christmas, which means I was introduced to the Shea butter one. It’s so moisturising and soft on the lips, and tastes great. I actually prefer this to my coconut one and I’m sure I’ll be loving it for a lot longer.

Next is another product I’ve already mentioned in blog posts this month which is my Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in the shade Replumzel. It’s a lovely glossy dark berry shade, but as it is sheer it works greats if you want a subtle look. For more details check out this post where I reviewed all of the shades I have!

Now my fifth product is one that I’m not sure I have spoken about much before. I went through a stage where I was obsessed with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, but lately I’ve found it doesn’t match my skin colour too well and is a bit pink-y. Therefore, this month I’ve switched it up with the Wake Me Up concealer from Rimmel. It’s a well-loved product on blogs and Youtube and has been for a while, but for me I’ve only just started getting into it. It’s one of my lesser coverage concealers and I’m loving it for the season at the moment. I use it under my eyes and on spots/blemishes, so for me it works for all areas. However, it is quite dewy and shiny so it may not be everyone’s up of tea.

Another makeup item for number six of my favourites, and it is one that I’ve used most days of this month. The MUA white eyeliner is one that I used on the waterline of my eyes to open them up. I love this technique at the moment and I think I’ll do a more in-depth post on my current eye look in February.

My seventh favourite is my diary ad diary writing. I just find it so therapeutic to write down the day’s events, planning out my month and reviewing the last days. My diary is also my current obsession because it is simple but beautiful- with tabs and weekly+monthly pages! It's from Paperchase and is still available, if you were wondering!

My eighth favourite of January is my phone case. I have an iphone4 and because of the newer iphones, finding cute and good, long-lasting phone cases is so hard. I love having one phone case that last for ages, and my last one was from Urban Outfitters and lasted a year. However by December it was being held together with tape, so I was so pleased when I received this one from Joules as a Christmas present. It’s totally me, as I love ALL things floral, and the case is make of a really good quality plastic.

If you haven’t already read my post that was all about my Chelsea boots, then check it out here, because my Chelsea boots are another of my favourites. I have been wearing these non-stop and they are in every one of my winter outfits. I can dress them up or down, wear them for a walk or shopping, I just love them! Furthermore, because I have been wearing them so much they’ve become so comfortable and suited to the shape of my foot- so now they’re like wearing a pair of slippers.

And finally, my final favourite is a food favourite. For the last few months, my family and I have been eating a little better and I have been trying to eat more fruit and incorporate more foods that are good for my body. One of my absolute favourite meals is my weekday breakfast, where I eat natural yogurt, walnuts and these amazing apricots. I’ve never really been a huge fan of apricots before but these ones from the Waitrose organic range are unlike any others. They are dried apricots and have similar nutritional values as other apricots, but they are a dark colour and are so juicy. If you’re in the UK, CHECK THESE OUT- you never know you may become as obsessed as I am!

So that’s all of the products I have been loving so far in 2015! I think there is a good mixture of items this month but if you have any monthly recommendations or just something you’ve been loving, please let me know in the comments. I hope you’ve had a wonderful day,
