About a month ago, I decided that I didn't like where my blog was going. As a blogger, it happens a lot that you may feel uninspired about content, but normally these spells go away. Incredibly, I've been writing this blog since 2014, and this has it's pros and cons. Although I can see how I've grown in the past few years, I also have to carry old content- that simply isn't me anymore- with me. It's time for a change.

One Year Blogging!
Hey,
So I'm super excited because this month hold's the brilliant event of my blog's 1 year anniversary.
I can't believe mydaisychaincloset.blogspot.co.uk is one year old, it feels like only yesterday that I decided to make my own spot on the internet and I've loved every second since.
When I made this blog I didnt know what to except. I think I thought that it would be a place where one or two people would read my thoughts but now I feel like part of a blogging community. I love to blog, and if you're considering it- please do! My blog makes me happy, and I feel proud of all I put on it.
Over the last year, I feel like so much of my blogging has improved- including my writing, presenting, photography and communicating with my audience and other bloggers. My first year has seen the new look of my blog, joint blog posts, my travel diary, #summerstyle and monthly book reviews. Some of my favourite posts are my Kimono OOTD, what's in my travel bag but all of my posts I love.
I want to thank all of my followers and readers. I mainly find followers on blogger, google+ and bloglovin, and if you want to subscribe mydaisychaincloset.blogspot.co.uk please follow links at the bottom of the page.
Here are some statistics about mydaisychaincloset for you:
85 blog posts
Readers from 10 different countries
2125 overall reads, I think this counts my own though
850 views from the USA
9 book reviews
My most popular post is a Review on my Primark Boots
To celebrate the 1st anninversary of a few things will be taking place.
The first is that my username, found at the bottom of every blog post is changing from Lydia xoxox to Lydia Eve. This means that you can now find me on all my social networks as Lydia Eve, or something similar i.e. lydia_eve.
The second, and probably most exciting, thing is that I now have more social media pages. I have my Bloglovin and Google+, but I have now made a Pinterest page for the blog, where you can follow blog posts and things I pin, as well as a Qoohme page, where I will be hosting Q&As.
I want my audience to know me better, and having a Qoohme page lets me do it. Here you can get an account and ask me questions, which I can then include in posts. I would really appriciate you getting an account because it means I can communicate with my audience better.
I am also inviting some bloggers to join me in using the website. This is optional to them, but I would love it!
I'm tagging Jenny, Becca, Nia, Bethany and Hannah, and also YOU.
I am also planning some exciting things for December this year, so stay tuned and subscribe!
But I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all my readers and subscribers. It means so much that you've even read this post. I love blogging, and it is now my favourite hobby. Your reads and comments really cheer me up, and I feel your support is what has kept me blogging and will keep my blogging. Thank you to all the lovely girlies I have also had the please of emailing or collabing with, I love that we can all come together as a community.
So my blog is now one, and I'm sure it will keep evolving and changing for a while longer. I hope you have enjoyed this post, are excited for the new news and what's to come. As always, I hope your days are amazing,

Book review: Insurgent + Allegiant by Veronica Roth
It’s time for the next book review of the month, and this is
what I read in April, along with Divergent review that I already posted. Read that here: http://mydaisychaincloset.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/book-review-divergent-by-veronica-roth.html .
So after I read Divergent, I had to read
Insurgent. Unlike the Hunger Games, when I read the first book I had to read
on. I was sad after the first book and didn’t want the second book to be a let
down and it wasn’t.
When reading Insurgent, by Veronica Roth, the original book
began to feel so simple and basic, as the second book is a little more
complicated.
Insurgent was such a good read, and again I had to force
myself to obey limited reading rules and force myself to put the book down.
There are so many emotions in this book; grief, anger, nerves, confusion and
happiness, just some of them. This means you stay hooked, and even with a more
complicated storyline, you will be absorbed.
One thing this book is filled of it plot twists. Throughout
the book the plot will suddenly change and leave you guessing what will be it’s
future. Veronica Roth is such an amazing writer, and uses plot twists to leave
you constantly surprised anf shocked! This is a brilliant ability that she
implicates in every page, and I would bet that no-one at any point in this book
could guess its end!
If you haven’t yet read Divergent, PLEASE DO, as I’m sure
you will love it. Don’t be scared by the fact it is a trilogy, and don’t be put
off of you have already watched the film- this book is incredible and is the
next big thing, so don’t miss out!
Please tell me down bellow what you think of my review, and
any thoughts you have of Insurgent!
I also have read Allegiant, by Veronica Roth, the final
book. This does not have the same gripping plotline as the others but holds the
same, if not more, deeply moving ideas and words that feel so important to the
way we live. The ending if unpredictable and although I have never cried at a
book, I have never been so emotionally touched- to the point that I was nearly
shaking. I loved this book, and the whole series, as I think it has taught me
important lessons and has provoked thoughts that let me see this world in
different eyes. Life is valuable, and through all obstacles we must find a way
to be brave- to show the dauntless in ourselves.
I have great respect for Veronica Roth, she has bravery and
knowledge, honesty, peacefulness and selflessness as well as every other
possible aptitude. She has put a powerful story into the world, a touching
romance but also deeply moving ideas and important life messages. She not
relise that, in the hype her books are getting (which they do diserve), that
they matter to the people that read them. I hope one day she can feel my
gratefulness, as she is an incredible woman.
Please read the Divergent series, it is the best book and
series of books I have ever read. It gives you fantasy and love, romance and
guidance, and so many more things. It is a wonderful book.
Thank you,

The Liebster Award
Hey everyone,
So this weeks post is going to be something different,
something exciting for me. I found out about a week and a half ago that one of
my lovely readers- Alyssa Barnett., that she nominated me for a Liebster award.
My first reaction was a pleased feeling, that someone had
actually come across my blog and read it. They had liked my content enough to
recommend me. I was touched.
Then I was curious, as I had never heard of the Liebster
award.
The Liebster award is basically an idea to create more
communication between bloggers. It is also for those who may be new to blogging
and have very few followers. The award is like a tag that gets passed on from
one blog to another. These are the only rules/ guidelines.
·
Thank the amazing blogger that nominated
you
·
Answer the 11 questions the nominator
provided
·
Nominate 11 other bloggers who have
less than 200 followers
·
Post 11 different questions for your
nominees to answer
·
Contact your nominees to let them
know that you've nominated them
So now I will answer my questions. I'd like to say hello to any new readers and I hope you like my blog. I'm sorry but when writing this I can't seem to get rid of the highlighted text, but please do read. x
1 What Is Your Favourite Childhood
Memory?
Now I’m only 14, so I consider myself
still being in my childhood. But some of my favourite memories are from my old
home- Bahrian. I lived in Bahrain for 5 years of my childhood, which is a
country in the middle east. I have not got a specific memory but all of my time
there counts as one big one to me!
2 Natural, Acrylic or Gel Nails?
I love to paint my nails, and I never
use fake nails. To answer your question my favourite nail polish is a Barry M
Gelly Nail paint, which is a gel nail paint, but my most used are just the
basic nail polishes.
3 What Is Your Favorite Perfume?
Again, I don’t really have a favourite
perfume, but my favourite body spray is currently Impulse’s sweet smile spray.
I reviewed some of their sprays here:
4 What Season Of Life Are You In (Young
& Free, Little Ones, Teens, Empty Nest ?)
So currently I am in my teens. I feel
like I’m becoming myself and learning as I go. I have created a happy life for
myself, with a close best friend and everyday I try to do things for myself and
not care about other people’s negative opinions.
5 Cook At Home Or Eat Out?
I don’t cook meals much at home, but I
do love to cook! I mostly cook sweet treats like crumbles, chocolate desserts
and cakes! If I go out, I love to go out with my family- my current favourite
treat being chicken burgers, they are the best things ever!
6 Biggest Fashion Fail?
Ok, so we all have fashion fails as we
grow up, those days when we just shake our heads at that old school photo. I
would say my worst fashion fail is when I was about 10 and my favourite
accessory was the bright tights, when I wore shorts and dresses with yellow,
pink, blue… etc tights. I laugh at it now, but for some reason I still find it
difficult to through out those old tights J x
7 Best Beauty Invention?
These questions are really difficult!
I’m so bad at answering tag questions! Anyway I don’t really know what my best
beauty invention is, so I’m going to say my favourite beauty product, sorry! I
think my complete favourite beauty product is my Body Shop- Lip butters, mine
are in coconut.
8. If You Could Pick Any Profession To
Take On What Would It Be?
Well I always struggle with thinking of
a career, because there are so many things I want to do. When I was little I
always said I wanted to be an artist or author. Now I would say my dream jobs
would be to work at Disney, creating a Disney movie as I one of the biggest
Disney fan, to do something to do with fashion, or writing about fashion in a
magazine or something to do with helping people, possibly teaching those with
special needs.
9. Favorite Pastime?
There are so many things I like to do in
my spare time including watching Youtube, reading, painting dinsey or doing
some art, cooking, singing and dancing to music, having baths and watching
Disney. My favourite thing would be depending on my mood at the time, but my
favourite ultimate past-time would be spending time with my best friend.
10. Least Favorite Household Duty
The job I most dislike is dusting. I
don’t mind doing it, but I always find my bedroom gets so dusty so quickly- so
the dusting never ends! It drives me crazy that one day after I’ve dusted, that
dust is gathering again!
11. Why Did You Start A Blog?
The reason I started my blog was after
mainly factors persuaded me. I watch beauty gurus on Youtube and have always
wanted to do something similar, but know I don’t have enough guts to create a
Youtube or permission. Another reason is that I have always loved fashion and
feel that at my age I am really creating my own personal style. The thing that
actually made me begin my blog when I did was Dof E. Originally I was going to
use my blog as part of the ‘skill’ part of my DofE, but after I decided on
something else. My best friend actually came up with the idea of a blog, and
now I carry it on as a hobby and something to do with my spare time!
So for my nominations. These are some
blogs similar to my own, that I found on Bloglovin’. I followed the Bloglovin
stats to check they had under 200 followers, so sorry if you are over this
amount! I really liked these blogs, all for different ways, and I would
recommend them to everyone!
So here are my 11 questions for you all to answer!
- What is your favourite Disney movie? Why?
- What is your best cooking achievement? (i.e. I do a good crumble, the recipe I learnt in my first year of secondary school)
- What is your favourite dessert?
- What is your ideal holiday location?
- Favourite book?
- What are you currently wearing?
- Who is your favourite Youtube? (If you have one)
- One fact not many people know about you? I.e. a hidden talent.
- Favourite song at the moment?
- What is your favourite/ go-to outfit?
- One thing on your bucket list?
So please go and visit these blogs, and leave a comment
below when you put up your Liebster award post so that I can read it! Thank
you,

Mascara Vrs Review
In 2013 I mainly used only two mascaras. These were my Max
factor false lash effect (in the purple bottle) and a Barry M black mascara,
I’m not completely sure but I think this is the only black mascara that they
do. Barry M make up is new to me, but I got it free with a gift bag when I was
at the clothes show. Barry M actually do some quite good products, with shimmer
dust (a type of eyeshadow) which I’ve been using a lot and the mascara too.
Because I’m reviewing make up and not fashion items the
format will be different.
Effect-
Max factor- I think that this mascara is very good as an
everyday mascara. It coats the lashes well and evenly, and leaves your lashes
looking natural but full.
BarryM- I love this mascara a lot on my lashes. I have quite
long lashes anyway but this gives them a fake look but they don’t look overly
false. They look bold and strong and I think it really opens up my eyes.
Practicality-
Max factor- although more suitable then the BarryM for
everyday and school use, the mascara I had wasn’t water proof and in the rain I
developed black tears.
BarryM- My BarryM mascara is waterproof and I don’t find it
wears off too much in the day. It does give your lashes a look that makes it
obvious you are wearing mascara but I don’t think it is that bad.
Value for money- £11.99 (from Boots online). Max factor is
an expensive brand to buy off, it has to be said. But all their mascaras come
with a price tag and my mascara lasted me months. I do think it is a little too
pricy though and I don’t think I can afford to repurchase.
BarryM- £6.19 (online price). At nearly half of the price of
the Max factor I think this mascara is great value for money. There are cheaper
mascaras then both of these but I think it’s a more respectable price at just
over £6.
Overall I think my personal favourite is the BarryM mascara,
this has really surprised me because a month ago I didn’t even know BarryM did
make up! I just think because it is good for everyday wear and party wear, it
is waterproof and isn’t too expensive the mascara is underestimated and isn’t
talked about enough.
I hoped you enjoyed this vrs type of review, I found it
quite interesting to write. Comment down below if you want me to review any
other products or type of product. I hope you enjoy this, I’d love to hear what
you think. Happy new year everyone! Love life, live on and be happy x
