Skincare routine | Updated

Hey,
So I hope everyone is well. Today, I am going to be talking about my updated skincare items and the products I like to use every week. It’s been a few months since the last post, and although a few items have stayed in their place, I have changed up a lot of my routine. I hope you enjoy and I am always interested in your recommendations- especially drugstore skincare items!

The first product is the Garnier Micellar water. This is a cleanser that I use to take off my makeup everday. It is basic but works really well, and has become an essential in my skincare routine. It cleanses my skin and makes my skin feel clean. This product is available in drugstores and supermarkets, so is easy to get your hands on.

The second item is one that was in my previous skincare post and one that I really, really like. The tea tree and witch hazel foaming face wash is from Boots own brand and is an easy-to-use every day face wash. I use it each morning to give my skin an initial clean and the fact it is a foam, means that I don’t have to deal with awkward textures like gels or scrubs. Although it is only available at Boots, I find a single pump of this lasts me months and is worth the trip to the shops.

The third product is one that occurred in my SpringFavourites post, and is actually large cotton pads. It sounds a bit odd but it makes skincare quicker and easier. I generally use this with the micellar water, and I find one pad is enough for my eyes and face!

Next is a scrub. I have been trialling this out for a few months because I find scrubs a bit annoying. In my last skincare post I included a scrub that eventually I found my skin didn’t like and made it feel uncomfortable and break out. I think the chemicals in it were a bit too much, so I tried to look for something with more natural ingredients. In the end I found this- the Amie radiant dawn scrub. I picked this up from my local Waitrose when it was on offer, and I have really enjoyed using it. It’s softer than alternatives on the skin, and when mixed with water before use, becomes a really nice texture.

Fifth is an item from Simple. Simple is a skincare brand that I absolutely love, and although there aren’t that many items in my current routine, I’ve used a lot of their products in the past. Luckily, I don’t get regular zits and spots, but I find that bad patches do appear and when they do- they don’t like to budge. These cleansing pads are pre-soaked and work by cleaning it all the spots up and quickly targeting them. They say they work overnight but I have found this is often not the case, however in a few days they do seem to go.

Now I want to talk about Soap & Glory skincare. I absolutely loved the Soap & Glory brand, for bath and body, makeup and skincare. I wish it was just a bit cheaper so I could indulge in it a bit more often, but now and again I do treat myself. I have tried two products from the range which are the hot cloth cleanser and the deep pore self-heating mask. Now the mask is an item I’m having to learn to love because I’m not sure I like the whole heats-up-on-you-face things, but the Ultimelt cleanser is lovely. I have actually used up nearly all of this, which makes me very sad, as it is a soft and moisturising product. Soap & Glory isn’t cheap, and is only available from Boots, but I love it…

For moisturiser, I use the Johnson’s baby lotion. I know this might also sound odd but it is such a moisturising product and is also really cheap. I like using this, but I am looking for a bit more of a moisturiser targeted to my mixed skin type.

Lastly I have a lip moisturiser that I have found is a key step in my skincare routine. The lip butter, in the shea butter flavour, is a really nourishing balm and I have found applying it before bed makes my lips softer and less dry.
