Review: My Real Techniques Make Up Brushes | Blogmas Day 10

I always find with reviews from blogs and Youtube can be a bit hit and miss. So when I decided to finally buy some Real Techniques brushes, I was so happy when I found out how much I love them. I bought the 'Starter Kit' set and 'Core Collection' set.

When I first got them, I was so excited, but didn’t really see the height. I guess I thought that if I put loads of foundations and attempted to mix it in then I’d look really different- that was not the case. I soon learned that a little product goes along way, especially with foundations, and that I needed to apply is evenly and then use the buffing brush to buff it in.

My favourite brushes from the face brushes are the buffing brush and contour brush- which I find applies my concealer amazingly.

I also feel that my eye makeup has improved so much since I’ve been using the eye brushes. I use the sleek au natural palette for my main eyeshadow choice, and applying and blending shadows is so easy now!

I don’t use the eyebrow brush, so I can’t review that particular brush, but I’m sure it is as good as the rest of the set.

Overall the brushes are so soft and easy to use. They have a price tag but it isn’t unreasonable and it is truly worth it.

I think the Real Techniques brushes are a lovely gift for Christmas, whether it is single brushes or sets, and any makeup loving person would adore them. Perfect for daughters, sisters, mothers etc, they have no age limit and are a thoughtful and unique gift idea.

Being Thankful | Blogmas Day 9

So today I wanted to talk about being thankful. Living in the UK, I do not celebrate thanksgiving, but at Christmas time I always find myself reflecting on what I have in life and how lucky I am to have it.

I am extremely lucky because I have my health, my family are all well and my friends are loving and supportive. My life isn’t perfect, but I rather it this way, and as long as everyone I love is as happy and healthy as possible than I am thankful.

Lately I have also been feeling happier about myself and my life. A few months ago, I realised that I was spending too much time on the internet and didn’t do enough hobbies and clubs. For some people the amount I do now is still little, but to others its a lot. I just felt down about the time I felt I was wasting in my life, so I made a change. I now enough going to an art club, orchestra, strings group, be part of two netball teams- one in school and one outside- and volunteer weekly with my local rainbows group. If you are feeling a little upset like I was, I would really recomedn becoming more busy because it has really made me feel better. To find new clubs ask friends, see what your school/ collage have to offer or just try something new! I am so thankful for all the opportunities I have because when there are so many doors open, there are so many places you can go.

I am also thankful for my blog and all of my readers. I blog because it makes me happy and I enjoy it so much, but having a supportive group of readers is amazing. I’d love to thank all of you because my readers are what keep me going and keep my blogging to my schedule.

The last thing I wanted to say thanks for today is Christmas. As a Christmas-a-holic, I have been loving this festive season more than anything. Christmas is such a magical time because if you celebrate it or not, people are happier, kinder and children are so excited- I’ve learnt from my little Rainbows- and life is just a whole lot nicer. Music, food, decorations, tv- everything is special at Christmas time.

So that’s all I want to say today and I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy thinking about all these special things. I hope you have a chance to be thankful too and that all your Christmas preparations (if you celebrate them) go well. Have an amazing day,

Curl Definition Hair Mousse vrs Review | Blogmas Day 8

So as a girl with curly hair, I always find finding a hair product I love takes a lot of work. My hair can be dry, frizzy and fluffy- and I don’t like it being any of these things. I use mousse after I wash my hair because it keeps and defines my natural curl for longer and it is an important step in my hair routine.

The two hair mousses I’ve tried are cheap and affordable, so if you’re on a budget then these products are defiantly worth a looking in to. I bought these in either supermarkets or boots, and both are under £5.

The VO5 ‘Curl Defining Mousse’ is one that I’ve tried out for a while, and also one that I’ve loved. After washing, I scrunch some mousse up into my curls and it dries in. I always find that this product seems to hold my curls for ages- which is great. I find that the product smells good, and the bottle can last for a few weeks. Also at just £4.19, it’s an easy choice! Lately I have found myself depending on this so much because it guarantees that my curls won’t dry flat!

The other mousse is one that I trialled when it was on offer at Tesco. This was the Pantene 'Pro-V Mousse Defined Curls'. I was impressed by the packaging, and larger bottle size, but soon I was unconvinced. I found that the hold and definition in my curls was worse than the V05 mousse, and soon the product just ran out. However, you can’t knock the price of this because it will only cost you £2.79. For me, there was just nothing that impressed me about this and it was really a disappointing product.

So overall, I recommend the VO5 mousse because of how long it lasts and the quality for money. As a curly haired girl, I am always looking for new recommendations so please let me know. Two Autumn Winter Hairstyles | Blogmas Day 7

Lately I have been trying new things with my hair for autumn/winter. Today I am going to show you two simple looks which I have been loving for this season. I hope you enjoy it!

The first look is a simple top-bun look. I love this look because it can be worn by any hair type- straight/curly etc and it is also achievable with 1 day- 3 day hair. I think it adds a messy-cute look and adds a little something when you are wearing your hair down. To achieve this look-

1.       Normally I will start the look with my naturally curly hair but if my hair is looking a little flat then I will plait my hair the night before. If I want to add some extra curls, I use some of my Aussie Curl Definition serum.

2.       Take the top section of hair, like you would with a top knot, and take some hair from the crown. With this hair, I begin to turn it into a pony tail but leave some hair in to make a bun. Then I pull it and mess it up, pinning any flyaway if needed.

The second look is a look which uses a plait. It’s got to be said, I’m not the best at doing plaits, but I always try because I think they look so beautiful! This look was like a plait halo look which again is a half up half down style. To create this style-

1.       First prepare the down part of your hair. I left mine curly.

2.       Next I take 1 part from each side of my head to plait. I decided to do a Dutch braid, because it’s my favourite, but the plait is up to you. A Dutch plait is like a normal French plait but backwards, moving the hair to the back. Plait the two pieces of hair.

3.       Take a hair band, or bobby pins depending on your hair’s thickness and weight, and combine the two plaits.

4.       Take an accessory, such as a bow like I used, and pin it over the place where the two plaits meet. This will make the plait halo seem seamless and a bow can add a festive touch too.

And that’s it, two easy 10 minute styles that are great for casual, school and party wear. I love wearing them at this time of year and I’d love to know your favourite hairstyles at the moment too. I hope you all have an amazing day,

My Favourite Christmas Youtubers | Blogmas Day 6

Hey,

So it’s Blogmas Day 6 and all I can say is how much I am loving Blogmas! I have loved reading other blogs and as blogging is one of my favourite hobbies, I have loved writing to. If you are also doing Blogmas, please comment down below because I’d love to see your posts!

As I am loving Blogmas and Vlogmas so much, I thought I would talk about my favourite vloggers on youtube at this time of the year.

·         Becca Rose- I love this youtuber so much! Becca Rose is a beauty/ fashion blogger but stands up for body confidence and being yourself. She has a great style and her everyday vlogs are amazing.

·         Gabby/ Velvet Ghost- Again this is one of the few vlogmas posts I try to watch over decmeber. She’s so funny and I always love her vlogging style.

·         Fleur de Force- I love all of Fleur’s videos around Christmas time, her Christmas gift guide and themed videos are really interesting and her vlogs are great.

·         Zoella- She may be one of everyone’s favourite youtubers but that’s because she is so good. I can’t always watch her vlogs because they are always a little long, but when I do I can’t stop laughing.

·         Sprinkle of Glitter- Louise is one of the most inspiring person on the internet. Her posts are filled with motherly love and I always love to know her opinions because I know they’re true and reliable. If you haven’t seen her videos yet then I recommend to watch them because she is honest and does a lot of videos about being happy in yourself.
